When the pressure inside a hydraulic circuit reaches a predetermined value, the valve opens to bypass part of the flowing oil to the return side, thereby maintaining the circuit pressure constant. It is also used as a pressure relief valve to protect the pump and equipment.
According to the capacity and set pressure, relief valves are available in many different models as shown in the table below.
